Why dance when you can skate, Gene?

After visiting the Renaissance Rooms in Vauxhall for a bout of roller skating on Saturday night, my ability has now soared as a competent skater who can go backwards and perform the odd extravagant turn. Well, as usual, my skill has been out-schooled by a smug American… 

Gene Kelly – synonymous with tap dancing? Well, yes. But he’s not a bad roller skater. (fast forward to 2.18, there’s boring singing before that (i have no idea why it is subtitled into French)). It’s a bit old school, but hey…you don’t often see double pairs of parantheses either…
