How boring is Adam Johnson?
Ok, so the length of this blog may not be too great…it’s basically a rhetorical question as this man is very boring.
If you don’t know, Adam Johnson is a 22-year old winger for the ‘Boro – and he’s just been probably one of the worst guests on Soccer AM ever…
I’m not exactly sure who screens the footballers to come on the show, but i imagine the criteria is to answer questions with a sense of humour, a bit of personality - and preferably go into a second sentence when answering said questions.
Soccer AM is meant to be an entertaining show, not ones filled with boring footballers with nothing to say other than his mate ”Wheats” (David Wheater) is a bit of a nut bar.
Unfortunately, in stark contrast, others guests included legendary Hacienda club owner Peter Hook, and American actor Jeremy Piven.
Piven, doing the UK weekend TV interview circuit (Friday Night With Jonathan Ross – check; Soccer AM – check), at least added character and was more entertaining with his Chicago sports stories and acting career than young Johnson.
Surely, a professional footballer should enjoy being on this long-running institution for the armchair fan and be more entertaining than a US actor who could only just recite that Manchester United were the country’s best side and mainly knew nothing much else about the sport.
Alas, no. It seems Soccer AM should get more personalities with things to say rather than actual professional footballers.
A sad sign of the times….
